Invocation
Sharpened magic wand,
call forth roses, fragrant red,
from alphabet soup

Love is a stray cat
slipping through a garden’s heart,
bushy tail brushing against petals, then gone—
leaving behind only tiny footprints
and a sweet scent of its presence forced
from bruised lavender and marigold.
A few memories remain tangled in the roots.

Haiku U 2!

The gentle river flows;
a sea lion a cappella
serenades walkers!

Tall tree branches whisper. Rose gold leaves softly settle. Autumn in Supernova.

A blue butterfly
hovers above a white rose;
A boy moves closer.

A golden moth warms
wings in morning’s white sun,
flutters, and disappears.

Blue-black dragonflies
skate across the sun-warmed breeze,
Blue-green frog awaits.

Shiny black cricket
dances with its shadow
until the sun sets.

Blue heron slices through
water and cattails, fishing,
but makes no sound.

A man on the beach
is shorter than his shadow
on this afternoon.

Handmade mud hut with
oak and cedar roof is soaked.
Inside, it’s warm and dry.

Dry leaves skitter,
pushed by a warm sunny breeze.
An aged woman smiles.

Many pigeons land
upon a heroic statue;
they roost and poop.

In the shade garden,
voices speak of love and sex.
Ice clinks against glass.

Rising in the dawn,
nature’s pride stands tall and firm.
Life’s playful secret.

The nighttime whispers,
wet skin slips and shimmers.
Hearts dance to the beat.

Tiny paws tap dancing,
squeaky barks behind the door,
Joyous reunion.
